I just wanted to let you know what a highlight our stay in Marrakesh and in particular your Riad, was. Abdellah was a great host and the four of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We will be sure to recommend Riad Najmati to anyone we know travelling to that part of the world.

Just back from Marrakech, we had a fantastic time, your riad was just stunning, we loved staying in such an original, authentic, quirky place.

We couldn’t get over how quiet and tranquil the riad was when it is so close to the hubbub. We loved the terrace and spent most of our time there when we were not out and about.

Your real find, which cannot go unmentioned is Abdellah, what a great manager he is. He met us at the airport, and helped us with our bags. On arrival at the riad he showed us the rooms, made us drinks, carried all the bags upstairs, then showed us a nearby restaurant to get a meal, a bit of an orientation visit, including where to change money, get a taxi, and the tabac.

Every morning he made us a wonderful breakfast on the terrace. He always seemed happy and nothing was too much trouble.

My friend wanted to look at a fixed price shop to get an idea of prices before attempting the souk and he kindly walked us all the way to ensure we found it. Later in the week he walked with us to find the Ben Yousef school.

He gave advice on how much we should pay for taxi fares and water and milk.

Without Abdellah’s advice I am certain our holiday would have been more difficult and more expensive. For example, he advised that a taxi to Majorelle gardens should be not more than 20 Dirhams, a little different to the 60 that one driver wanted to charge, and indeed we did manage to negotiate the price suggested by Abdellah.

We had two evening meals at the riad cooked by him, one tagine and one barbeque, and both were lovely.

I am not sure if it is a British thing of not wanting to put people to any trouble, we were so impressed with Abdellah he is so knowledgeable, polite, friendly, informative, and attentive without being intrusive, we told him we felt like spoilt princesses, although I was not sure if he knew what we meant.

I am finding it difficult to sum up what a marvellous time we all had, but this is my clumsy attempt to let you know what a fantastic time we had and I feel your beautiful and quite magical riad and your riad Manager Abdellah were the two biggest factors in making our holiday such a pleasurable experience. I would hope to be able to visit again and will remember the secret is to bring, as we did at your request, porridge oats – now Abdellah’s favourite breakfast!

We had a fabulous holiday based in this riad; definitely one to remember!

  • The riad was exactly as we expected from the photos and info on your website. It is an old building which has been carefully adapted to keep many of the traditional features
  • All correspondence with the owner was efficient and extremely helpful
  • The resident manager, Abdellah, could not have done more to welcome us; he manages the riad extremely well and went out of his way to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable. We enjoyed talking to him and learning about his country and culture.
  • The position of the riad was perfect and enabled us to really "feel" the Marrakesh experience. The Medina is amazing.
Absolutely no complaints - we won't have changed a thing.

We stayed for seven nights at Riad Najmati and had a wonderful time. It is the perfect place to relax and rest, and it's hard to believe that such a quiet and peaceful oasis could be only a few minutes' walk from the bustling centre of the old city. This riad is spotlessly clean and Abdellah is the perfect host - helpful in every way when you need him, but invisible when you want to have some privacy. I would unhesitatingly recommend it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our month-long holiday at your homes in Morocco, over Christmas; and in France, for the New Year.

The Riad in Marrakech was fabulous and authentic. Our kids (22, 28 and 29) had no knowledge at all about Marrakesh and couldn’t stop talking about it and the Medina for the first few days. They had all come over from London so the weather (average of 25 degrees most days) was very welcome also.

Abdellah was helpful and unobtrusive at all times (and made me many many pots of mint tea). We included him in everything we could as he got on really well with our kids and was close in age to them.

I was unsure about the Christmas present with him being Muslim, but decided to go with it and hoped for the best.

Our girls always need a Christmas tree and have many varied sorts, but a lemon tree in a pot was a first.

It was great to have the house in France warm for our arrival and it was clean and well presented. The bottle of wine was very much appreciated also. The house was very liveable and the kitchen very useable. We bought produce from the local markets and did some cooking as well as going to the local restaurants which were all good.

The bedroom with the bi-fold doors has a spectacular view. We opened the shutters when we woke then proceeded to enjoy the sunrises while we had breakfast in bed. We only had a couple of foggy mornings and rain on one day (this was December!) The temperatures varied from 6 on the coldest day to an average of 10 to 12 on most days so the weather was really good.

All in all, we both enjoyed our holiday immensely.

Just enjoyed a memorable stay in Marrakesh with my wife to celebrate our 25th Wedding anniversary. The accommodation at Riad Najmati played no small part in making our stay so memorable. The riad, located very near to the cultural hotspot that is the Jmaah El Fna, was very well laid out and met our needs perfectly. I would have no hesitation in recommending this 'oasis of tranquility' and would stay here again when I re-visit. Thank you Abdellah (resident manager) for all your support and efforts! (May 2011)

"Staying at your riad in Marrakech was a wonderful experience beyond any other and it was mainly thanks to Abdellah who was an excellent host, patient guide and a delightful flirt. Even with all the noise and laughter we three ladies brought with us, he was more than happy to entertain us. We had fun both in the riad and out."

Your Riad is fantastic, beautifully decorated, homely and quiet. Abdellah was great and looked after us with mint tea, breakfasts and his advice of where to go and what do to was invaluable.

We have had a lovely time and the local people are friendly and helpful. The weather was lovely and I was able to wear my flip flops and teeshirt during the day. Abdellah arranged a trip for us to the Atlas mountains and the waterfall.

We would recommend your Riad, and we would love to visit and stay again.

"We loved your riad. Abdellah was a star. Nothing was too much trouble for him. We would rate it a 5 Star Excellent. Would love to come again with the rest of the family. Thank you for all your advice, and we loved the Moroccan-made duck pate."
